Reflections on Transformational Learning ….

Recently during exam invigilating work, I had the opportunity to discuss with two colleagues transformational learning …. The statement from an earlier blog:

……  “You can no simply upload your knowledge to students” instead transform students existing knowledge (McGonigal, 2005).  The strategies of transformative learning. The term ‘learning’ is used here as both the Instructor and the Student are transformed through the process of learning.    …..

Two colleagues, from two unique perspectives, shared their ideas.  My first colleague, from a math and science background, agreed that the process of math and not just the product of an equation was more important.  Further she expanded on her frustration with the evaluative tools ability to fully evaluate the process of a learner.

My second colleague, an Indigenous Instructor tasked with bridging Access, works effectively from the perspective of collaborative transformational learning …. This learning process if more effective in engaging the learners and producing ‘success’ from a college standard ….

Many hyjkas for the feedback from my work colleagues ….  \0/  \0/  \0/  \0/
