Consider How We Paddle Together

This literature review was prepared by Melissa Plišić, a queer second-generation immigrant-settler studying at UBC, who writes from the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ Nations.

Guided by Coast Salish protocol and mentorship from kQwa’ste’not ~ Charlene George and Slii’em’tunaat, the review supports the creation of Consider How We Paddle Together (CHWPT), a tool inviting Western-enculturated learners into transformational learning and deeper reflection on how knowledge is formed.

Building on work by Elizabeth Jackson and the Seeing Through Watcher’s Eyes learning tool, it centres Indigenous worldviews in climate work and critiques settler colonialism as a driver of ecological harm.
